TPS25946: reverse current blocking (TPS25947)and current flow in both directions

Hi team,

I found TPS25946 and 25947 has same back to back FET in block diagram, but TPS25946 can support current flow in both directions , while TPS25947 only support IN to OUT(reverse current blocking), I want to the work difference between the two devices. Thanks.

Hi Amber,

Both the devices have back-to-back common drain FETs but how these FETs are being controlled is different. In case of TPS25946, when the device is turned off, both FETs turn off and provide the RCB functionality. When the device is on, both will remain on.

In case of TPS25947, device off case is same but during device on scenario, device have two mechanisms to provide RCB, comparator based, and Liner Oring based. Please refer to section 8.3.7 in datasheet for details.
