TPS25810-Q1: How to pass MFi OCP test

Part Number: TPS25810-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25830A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

Customer wants to know how to pass MFi OCP test for design of TPS25810-Q1. I found the application note of SLVAEQ2 on TI.com. It says that this application report introduces solutions to pass the MFi OCP test based on TPS2583x/4x-Q1. Is there the application note for TPS25810-Q1?

  • Hi Jeffrey,

This app note doesn't apply to TPS25810-Q1 because it doesn't have a resistor programmable current limit (an ILIM/ILIMIT pin). 810-Q1 has two fixed current limits.  I don't believe we have a similar report for TPS25810-Q1.

I can't find anything in our catalog that is an automotive CC controller with resistor programmable current limit, but without an integrated DC/DC converter.  You could use something like TPS25830A-Q1 and leave it's DC/DC output unused.  I unfortunately can't think of any better options.

    Regards,
    Eric
