TPSM5D1806: switching noise at input side increase when the load current is maximum.

Part Number: TPSM5D1806
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , TPSM63610EVM, TPSM64406EVM, TPSM63603EVM

Tool/software:

Hello team,

My customer is evaluating TPSM5D1806EVM.
They found the switching noise at input side increase to 0.9V when the load current is maximum.
The customer would like to know whether this switching noise is TPSM5D1806 itself performance or it causes by board layout or schematics.
Currently, the customer use 47uF x 2 as Cin, and added 100pF, 1000pF or 10000pF to both C25 and C28, but the level of switching noise did not change.

A similar trend exists for the TPS63603EVM.
However, the TPSM63610EVM and TPSM64406EVM do not exhibit this trend, and they are only around 0.2 V at maximum load.

I attached the data from the customer as the following.
/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/196/switching-noise-at-input-side-of-TI-power-module.pptx

Would you please advise me whether this switching noise is TPSM5D1806 itself performance or it causes by board layout or schematics?  Is there anything other than increasing the value of Cin?

Your advice is appreciated.

Best Regards,
Akihisa Tamazaki
