Since STMicroelectronics' L6615D has been discontinued, I am considering using UCC29002 as a replacement. I would like to hear your opinions.
Also, how many parallel connections can UCC29002 operate?

    Thank you for your interest in TI's products. The UCC29002 load share controller is a good replacement for the L6615D. While the UCC29002 is not pin-to-pin compatible, the UCC29002 provides the same functionality as the L6615D. 

    The UCC29002 has three variants (UCC29002, UCC39002, UCC29002-1). Please see this E2E post on the differences. We have a UCC29002 design calculator to speed up your design process. You can also order the UCC39002EVM to test the UCC29002 on hardware. 

    Theoretically, there is no limit to how many parallel connections you can have. Practically, as you add more parallel connections, the variation in load between each power stage will increase. You can view the PMP10099 reference design, which features 8x flyback power stages in parallel each controlled by a UCC29002. Page 11 of the test report shows the variation in load of each power stage. 

    Fewer parallel stages will result in less variation in load, even at high power. Page 6 of the UCC29002 datasheet shows the variation in load between 3 parallel stages in a 60A load.
