TPS54J061: Fault: auto retry or latch

Part Number: TPS54J061

Tool/software:

Hi team,

May I know the fault response for all faults? Could you please confirm?

(1) OCL: I think it is auto retry

(2) UVP: I think it is auto retry

(3) Negative OCL: I think it is auto retry

(4) OVP: I think it is Latch

(5) OOB: I think it is auto retry

(6) UVLO: I think it is auto retry

(7) TSD: I think it is auto retry

  • Hi Naizeng,

The responses are stated in the datasheet.

    (1) OCL:

    (2) UVP:

    (3) Negative OCL:

    (4) OVP:

    (5) OOB:

    (6) UVLO:

    (7) TSD:

    Best,
    Ryan

  • Hi Ryan,

I know how to read datasheet. Please give your brief confirmation. Thanks!

  • Hi Nison,

    (1) OCL: LS FET is on until current is less than OCL

    (2) UVP: After FB is lower than 80%, there is a delay and then device latches off. The device will try to start up again after the soft start.

    (3) Negative OCL: When negative OC is greater than -3.5 A, device turns off LS FET and turns on HS FET. After HS FET on time, LS FET turns on again.

    (4) OVP: After FB is greater than 116% than Vinref, ovp latches off HS FET driver turns on LS FET until it reaches negative OC. Then LS turns off and HS turns on again

    (5) OOB: LS FET turns on to discharge, then gets output voltage to setpoint.

    (6) UVLO: Non latch, shuts off device when VCC voltage is less than uvlo threshold, once it is higher device turns back on and soft starts

    (7) TSD: Non latch Stops switching and discharges ss. After temp drops 38 C below threshold, device turns back on with soft start.

    Best,

    Ryan

  • Hi Ryan,

Thanks! It seems that only OVP will latch the device.
