BQ34Z100-G1: Learned Status Jumps to 0x06 from 0x04

Hello Shilpa,

Can you send a log file of this occurring. What most likely happened is that the gauge experienced a Qmax and Ra table update which made it jump to 0x06.

Hi, Unfortunately we didn't have the data logger attached. 
Are we supposed to manually edit 'Qmax Cell 0' value prior to doing the Learning cycle? if not what should be it's default value be ?

We tried RESET 'ing the fuel gauge , But the Learned Status still jumps to 0x06 from 0x04. Please check log files below

Also, 

When should we send the RESET command ? on the top of charge while its resting, before discharge ?

Hello Shilpa,

The RESET should be sent before the discharge. I believe you also need to change the flag status for the Ra table. 

Change this register to 0xFF55 and also send the RESET before the start of discharging.

Thank you. I updated the Ra change and we restarted the learning procedure. Today we're at the IT_ENABLE state , but noticed the [QEN] bit is still NOT set.

According to TRM, 

2.1.1.15 IT ENABLE: 0x0021
Forces the fuel gauge to begin the Impedance Track algorithm, sets Bit 2 of UpdateStatus and causes the
[VOK] and [QEN] flags to be set in the CONTROL STATUS register. [VOK] is cleared if the voltages are not
suitable for a Qmax update. Once set, [QEN] cannot be cleared. This command is only available when the fuel gauge is UNSEALED and is typically enabled at the last step of production after the system test is completed.

Is [QEN] bit supposed to be automatically set upon IT_ENABLE command instantaneously?

Hi Adrian,

Yes, I did RESET the battery per your suggestion. Then performed a discharge , relaxed for more than 5hrs and then sent an IT_ENABLE command
