TPS3896: State of the unused pins in TXB0108

Part Number: TPS3896

Tool/software:

Greetings!

We are planning to use TPS3896PDRYT for our application.

Can we proceed with connecting the CT pin as NC, also what would be the reset time delay when there is no capacitor connected to CT pin.

Also, We are planning to use an 80K and 10K resistors to set the threshold voltage of 4.5V. Can we leave the CT pin open for this configuration.

Guide us in this regards.

Regards,

Ravichandran

  • Hi Ravichandran,

    Thanks for your question!

Please find a sample connection for push pull output topology in below, and make sure the device is enabled for proper sense_out behavior. And you can connect a capacitor or leave it open depending on the reset requirement.

If you leave CT pin open the reset time delay will be tpd(r) will be typically 40 us in that case.

Just want to let you know that R1 and R2 can have high values (> 100 kΩ) to minimize current consumption as a result of a low SENSE input current without adding significant error to the resistive divider for RPS389x family. If you look at the recommended operation condition table, the max current I sense is 1 mA.
