TPS65219: need solution to ticket 1339054

Part Number: TPS65219

Tool/software:

I have same issue as https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1339054/tps65219-irq-issue, but there is no solution there, was this bug fixed?

  • looks like no one wants to answer this one. Wish I had a solution to it, don't really like a floating IRQ in my system.

  • Hi Anthony,

Sorry for the delayed response with my schedule and travel! I will look into this solution because I agree a floating IRQ isn’t ideal. I should be able to look into this by the end of next week & respond with a proper solution. Thank you for your patience!

    Best,

    Shree Ramamoorthy

  • Hi Anthony,

I think I have isolated the issue. The pin control node naming is what's incorrect. I would recommend running make CHECK_DTBS=y on your dtb file, if you have not already. I don't have your exact set-up, so let me know if this solution works.

Reference DTSchema for Pin Control: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/devicetree/bindings/pinctrl/pinctrl-single.yaml

Issue: in the original thread, the pmic pinctrl naming was incorrect.

    main_gpio1_pmic_intr_pins_default: main-gpio1-pmic-intr-pins-default

Solution: ensure your naming ends with -pins

    pmic_irq_pins_default: pmic-irq-default-pins

So the correct solution from the original thread would be:

    main_gpio1_pmic_intr_pins_default: main-gpio1-pmic-intr-default-pins

Thank you for your patience & let me know if this solves your issue!

  • sorry, but this had no effect. Changed all "pins-default" to "default-pins" in device tree, and it had absolutely no effect on the unclaimed IRQ.

  • Hi Anthony,

Can you send your dts file? Can you confirm that you have an external pull up resistor for the PMIC output INT pin? If you do not, add one & see if the IRQ issue is resolved. This was the solution to someone who had a similar boot log, but with IRQ 27 instead of 26.
