LM5156: Is LM5156 possible to use input(DC12V, DC24V, DC48V, AC85-264V) and output (+/-15V 0.1A)

Part Number: LM5156

Tool/software:

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering the same concept with related thread.

Is LM5156 possible to use input(DC12V、DC24V、DC48V、AC85-264V) and output (+/-15V 0.1A)

If yes, could you please provide the reference design.

The customer's condition has both buck and boost, the reference design would be helpful.

Also, could you please let me know if you have any other products you would recommend.

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi,

    Thanks for reaching out.

It seems like a flyback with LM5156 can be a good fit for you.

However, LM5156 can only accept DC voltages at the input. So an AC voltage would have to be rectified first.

Please have a look at the reference design i attached. It shows LM5156 in flyback configuration with a positive and a negative output rail.

You can also use our quickstart calculator for the design: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/SNVC240

I shared this information with the customer.

When the customer has an additional question, I consult you again.

I appreciate your great help and cooperation.

    Best regards,
