Tool/software:
Hi,
I have a circuit using a TPD61023DRLR to generate 5V from two AA cells in series.
I'm testing the circuit using a poer supply varying the voltage to check operation and I've been getting crashes randomly at voltages below 2.2V
The circuit uses an ESP12F
The TPS60123 is configured
I have 100uF MLCC across the supply pins (Vbatt) and the 5V goes to a 3.3V LDO to supply the ESP.
C7 21 and 22 are Mulilayer ceramic capacitors.
I have monitored the 5V and 3.3V with an oscilloscope and found the following, the Blue trace is the 5V form the TPS61023
Do you have any suggestions as to what it could be and how to fix it.
PCB layout
This is a scope trace after adding an extra 22uF MLCC across the 5V (Yellow) also I've added the SW pin (Blue) to the Scope trace as the 5V glitch occurs
Hi Phil,
Yes, please check the input current capability or internal resistance. Looks like the Vin cannot hold with your load condition.
Best Regards,
Travis
I added some thicker shorter wires to the power supply and it has fixed the issue.
