Hello team ,

I need to use a fuel gauge for Li-ion battery pack . Pack voltage is 12 V , 5000mAh . I2C is the preferred interface . Requesting you to suggest a part number best suits for the application. (Application is mainly driving 12V DC motors , with a micro control )

Hello,

Since the pack is 12V I assume this is 3 or 4 cells in series. As long as you have access to each individual cell voltage then the BQ41z50 will be a good choice for your design.

Hi Adrian ,

Thanks for the response , unfortunately we don't have access to the individual cells, only to the pack voltage (12 V) . It is a 2 pin connector used in this pack to charge/discharge the pack . Do we have a fuel gauge solution for such application?

If that is the case, then you will need a top of stack gauge. The BQ34z100 will be the perfect gauge for your application. https://www.ti.com/product/BQ34Z100
