BQ25798BKUPEVM: BQ25798BKUPEVM

Part Number: BQ25798BKUPEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY, BQ25798

Tool/software:

Dear Support,

I am trying to evaluate BQ25798BKUPEVM and have followed the instructions as per User Guide and alternatively as here: BQ25798BKUPEVM: BQ25798KUPEVM not connecting on cloud GUI through USB2ANY - Power management forum - Power management - TI E2E support forums.

My setup is:

  • SLVC695 which updates my USB2ANY firmware to version 2.8.2.0
  • External power supply connected to J1 (12V)
  • 4 cell Li-Ion battery not connected
  • Windows 11 home (if relevant).

When I connect my USB2ANY to TI-CHARGE cloud GUI it updates its firmware to version 2.9.0.3. After update, I disconnect my USB2ANY device, connect the BQ25798BKUPEVM board, turn on the 12V power supply and reconnect USB2ANY to the computer.

Then I open the cloud GUI and I am able to choose my device.

After pressing ok I get the message as bellow.

I have tried changing the device address (I guess that is what it means) with out sucess.

I have confirmed that BQ25798 is the IC soldered in my EVM.

If you have any idea in order to sort this out please let me know.

Best,

Edgar
