BQ76952: Check how to enter into shutdown mode with TS2 pin has 5Kohm resistor

Part Number: BQ76952

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

Could you please help to check if customer want to enter into shutdown mode, then, if TS2 pin must left floating if customer use RST_SHUT pull high for 1s? If don't need TS2 pin keep floating, then, could you possible share a more detail step to test the shut down current? Thanks a lot for your support.

Since customer tried to pull RST_SHUT high for 1S, and they change the TS2 resistor to 5Mohm, the voltage on TS2 shows 3.6V, which not shows 5V, and from datasheet, it shows under shut down mode, the TS2 should about 5V.  And customer give a test of the shut down current by multimeter, it shows about 20uA~40uA(always change), so, it seems device not enter into shutdown mode.

Test current as below blue line shows:

  • Hello Jie,

Can you measure the voltage on the REG18 pin? If it is supposed to be in SHUTDOWN, it should output 0V, however, if it’s outputting 1.8V, most likely the device entered Soft Shutdown while trying to enter SHUTDOWN. This is most likely due to TS2 remaining LOW while trying to enter SHUTDOWN. Please follow the BQ76952 Soft Shutdown FAQ in exiting soft shutdown mode. This BQ76952 Shutdown FAQ may also be useful.

    Best Regards,
