tpw is the minimum pulse width that the driver will recognize and send an output. This is a lower bound rather than how short the input pulses need to be.
Refer to Note (2) below the table. If the input pulse is longer than tpw but shorter than tpw,ext (3ns for example), the pulse will be extended to propogate out as tpw, ext, typically 4.5ns. This is only true during a H-L-H (negative) pulse to help ensure proper turn-off and does not apply to positive pulses.
