I am looking for new drivers for LED lighting for a machine vision application and came upon this article. e2e.ti.com/.../tps922055-high-power-led-flash-driver-for-machine-vision
However upon examination of the datasheet for TPS922055, there is some concern. The datasheet states a built-in soft-start timer, how exactly was this circumvented? in most machine vision applications there is significant off-time, therefore PWM mode wouldn't be applicable, it is common that framerates such as 1FPS or even less are applied, and if my understanding is correct, TPS922055 wouldn't be able to handle this. was this considered when writing this article? perhaps the application of this driver is only suitable for high-speed use? thanks in advance for your time
