TPS50601A-SP: End of Life Specification

Part Number: TPS50601A-SP

Tool/software:

Hi,

I have some follow up questions in relation to this thread.

Texas Instruments (Sarah Koch) has stated "the range of the [TPS50601A-SP] spec includes variation from temp, load, supply voltage, radiation and group C aging."  Group C tests are performed for 1000 hours at 125°C.  How can the datasheet variations be applied to products with longer lifetimes, e.g., 5, 10, 15, or 20 years?  If an Arrhenius extrapolation is appropriate, what is the shape of the graph of variation versus time, e.g., linear, logarithmic, cube root, etc.?  Also, is the activation energy to be used in such an Arrhenius extrapolation known?

What statistics would you ascribe to the datasheet parameter value ranges, e.g., what is the probability density function shape and standard deviation?

  • Hey Anthony,

Sarah provided the data we take on our parts in order to meet the strict QMLV specifications for space parts.
Group C testing is an accelerated life test which is meant to correlate to longer life times.
I suggest researching MIL-STD-883 and its corresponding tests.

Here is a list of the QMLV flow we follow:
    https://www.ti.com/lit/an/sboa143c/sboa143c.pdf
We can provide data, but specific project requirements may vary from the QMLV flow.
I suggest looking into your project requirements for how it interacts with the QMLV flow.

    Thanks,
    Daniel
