UCD90320: IOUT_CAL_GAIN rounding

Part Number: UCD90320

Tool/software:

Hi,

We stumbled upon the same problem described in the post below. We tried setting the value to 2000, but it was rounded to 2030 by the TI Fusion tool.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1008765/ucd90320-ti-fusion-digital-power-designer-tool---iout-cal-gain-parameter-issue

One thing we tried doing is manually entering the equivalent LINEAR11 value into the generated TIFSP, and re-importing that into Fusion, which doesn't complain.

Thus, my question is, is the rounding error simply a limitation of the Fusion tool? Is what we have done a valid way to store the value we want?

Thanks,

Adrianna

  • Hi, Adrianna,

Device rounds iout cal gain to the closet value it supports. Try using SMBus/I2C/SAA debug tool to write the value to device, and then read back the value to see if read-back value is the same as written value.
