TPS25751: Disable dead battery function

Part Number: TPS25751

Tool/software:

Hi,

I would like to know if the TPS25751 supports disabling the dead battery feature. I noticed that this chip does not have an external pin for configuring the enable/disable setting for dead battery.

According to the datasheet, it seems that the dead battery function is enabled by default, and the only configuration option relates to how the chip behaves once VBUS is on in dead battery mode.

I understand this is not an issue in DPR or Sink modes, but if it is used strictly as a Source and we can’t manually switch the dead battery enable/disable, it might cause some inconvenience.

Thank you very much for your answer.

Best regards,

Killa

  • Hi Killa,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E!

You can refer to this table below which should help! With the safe mode configuration, the PD will never close the system switch and will a source only when the configuration is loaded onto the PD.

    Thank you,

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

Thank you so much for your reply.

Now I understood. According to the table, the chip seems will configure the source-only mode based on the voltage of the analog input after startup.

    Best regards,

    Killa
