Tool/software:
If I look at the pin equivalent diagram ( SLUAAF2 – MAY 2021) for this pin it seems it clamps it to VSS when turning off the FET. Is this true?
Why is it different from the CHG pin?
This will draw a high current through the gate zener diode and series resistors.
Hello Thomas,
The pin equivalent diagram shows a simplified version of the internal circuit there. The DSG FET driver does operate differently compared to the CHG FET driver when triggered to turn off. The DSG FET driver supports a faster turn off. Section 8.5 FET Driver Turn-Off in the datasheet helps explain this further.
