TPS65217: Help needed with input configuration

Part Number: TPS65217

Tool/software:

I am using this part to power AM3358BZCZA100 processor (Taking reference from Bealgebone)

My power input configuration is:

1. 5V input from DC supply.
2. No battery
3. No USB power

Is the schematic correct for this input configuration. Specifically, should I connect the 5V DC input to  AC pin or to the USB pin?

  • Hi Mohit,

Thank you for reaching out on E2E. The TPS65217x Schematic Checklist should be a helpful resource in your designing process.

Since you are using the 5V DC input only, this should be connected to the AC pin. And the USB pin should be grounded.

Please also see the following comments regarding the schematic:

    • As mentioned, USB pin should be connected to GND
    • BAT, BAT_2, and BAT_SENSE should be shorted together, and grounded via a pull-down resistor (1kOhm - 10kOhm)
    • If ISINK1 and ISINK2 are unused, please GND both pins.

Let me know if you have any further questions or comments.

    Best Regards,
    Sarah
