UCC21750QDWEVM-025: we try to reproduce the DESAT protection with soft turn-off while power device is ON

Part Number: UCC21750QDWEVM-025
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21750

Tool/software:

Dear team,

I asked the DESAT question for UCC21750 in previous E2e thread.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1452007/ucc21750-does-the-desat-feature-need-the-non-100-duty-operation-to-trigger

our customer wants to know why the following DESAT protection case noted in datasheet can work without leading edge blanking time, t_DESATLEB?

They also try with the EVM board to reproduce the DESAT protection with soft turn-off while power device is ON.

but they can't observe the DESAT pin starting to charge the C_BLK and increase the pin voltage level to threshold 9V.

could you please provide some possible reasons and hint?

best regards,

Hank Lin

  • Hi Hank,

our customer wants to know why the following DESAT protection case noted in datasheet can work without leading edge blanking time, t_DESATLEB? -> can you please elaborate this question? Do you mean that "leading edge blanking time, t_DESATLEB" is applicable ? Yes leading edge blanking time, t_DESATLEB is applicable.

Can you please share the waveforms captured close to DESAT pin, INP, OUT and FLT pin?

So that we can understand the issue.

    Thanks

    Sasi

  • Dear Sasi,

    please refer to my answer

can you please elaborate this question? Do you mean that "leading edge blanking time, t_DESATLEB" is applicable ?  yes that is what I mean.

I'm requiring customer to share the waveform. please wait, thanks!!!

    Best regards,

    Hank Lin

  • Thanks Hank for the confirmation.

Yes, t_DESATLEB is applicable to UCC21750 devices.

We are looking forward for the customer waveform.

    Thanks
