USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01: Writing to E2PROM

Part Number: USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY, TIDA-050047

Tool/software:

Hi,

I would like to write data to USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01.

1. As described in the following thread, is it correct to understand that Aardvark is used instead of USB2ANY for writing?

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1021134/faq-how-do-i-configure-the-tps25750-and-flash-the-eeprom-with-the-output-binary-for-the-board-usb-pd-chg-evm-01

2. USB2ANY is included in TIDA-050047, but is it correct to understand that it cannot be used for writing E2PROM?

https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-050047

3. I plan to use Aardvark for evaluation using EVM, but please tell me the tools necessary to write to E2PROM in mass production.

Best Regards,

Nishie

  • Hi,

    Do you have any update?

    Best Regards,

    Nishie

  • Hi Nishie-san,

Thank you for your patience, please see my responses below:

    1. As described in the following thread, is it correct to understand that Aardvark is used instead of USB2ANY for writing?

Yes that is correct, USB2ANY is not supported for the CHG EVM.

    2. USB2ANY is included in TIDA-050047, but is it correct to understand that it cannot be used for writing E2PROM?

    https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-050047

Yes that is correct, the USB2ANY does not have the proper driver/software to write to the EEPROM. You'll need to use an Aardvark Adapter or some other I2C programmer to write to the EEPROM.

    3. I plan to use Aardvark for evaluation using EVM, but please tell me the tools necessary to write to E2PROM in mass production.

We do not have any recommendations for mass production EEPROM programming. You can check with your PCB manufacturer if they provide services for mass flashing.

Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns!

    Thanks and Regards,

    Raymond Lin
