TPS2546: Charging operation when the portable device is connected via cable.

Tool/software:

My customer is developing a portable speaker.
A-Type USB JACK connected to portable speaker.
- Once the USB device is connected, it plays the saved MP3 file.
- Charging operation when the portable device is connected via cable. (iPhone, iPad, Galaxy phone, Galaxy pad, etc.)
I'm trying to implement but I want to make sure there's no problem charging if I use TPS2546.

Hi David,

Thank you for reaching out!

The TPS2546 supports BC1.2 charging schemes (CDP supports charging + data) and would be fit for your needs.

One thing to consider would be the CDP-SDP auto switch feature. Please look into the following thread for more information.

Which mode should I set it to when I try to use it as below?

Connecting USB memory plays saved MP3 files.
It supports charging when connecting various portable devices with a cable.
