LM5171: IMON

Part Number: LM5171

Tool/software:

Thanks for the helpful answer to "LM5171: Is IMON 'bidirectional', similar to ISET, when in Boost FPWM mode?", where the TI team confirmed IMON reduces below its 50uA offset when inductor current flows in reverse. We have confirmed this experimentally, as well.

In view of IMON's "bidirectionality" in this way, the purpose of this question submission is to ask: "How this diode in the Block Diagram contribute to IMON operation? It looks like this diode would prevent IMON output current from going below 50uA."

Thanks!
