BQ77915: Implementing load removal detection at LD via a loop-back of AVDD on the external connector

Part Number: BQ77915

Tool/software:

Hi,

We encountered the same issue (implementing load removal detection for high-side control) in our design. Instead of using the originally proposed design to drive LD pin from the high side (from this post: https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/931587/bq77915-using-high-side-control-via-charge-pump-gate-drivers), we were wondering if we could create a loop-back signal of the AVDD pin on the external connector, and use it to drive the LD pin?

In this case the input voltage at LD pin would be AVDD via loop-back when the load is connected, and floating when the load is removed.

Is this a feasible option, and would this affect the normal operation of the AVDD and LD pins?

Thank you very much!
