UCC27714: UCC27714 High-Side Output Distortion Despite Proper Inputs and Component Re-soldering

Part Number: UCC27714

Tool/software:

I designed the UCC27714 IC as shown below. I’m using the Rbias resistor as a short (0 ohms), and my Rboot resistor is 5 ohms. Everything else is the same as the schematic. However, I'm experiencing this issue: my inputs are fine, the low-side output is fine, but the high-side output is distorted as shown in the figure. I’ve re-soldered the surrounding components, but the problem still persists.

  • Hello,

Thank you for the interest in the UCC27714. I will look to he=lp with your concerns. Can you describe the entire circuit setup, Or ideally provide a schematic, a partial schematic of the driver and power devices is OK?

The high side driver is a floating driver with the ground reference of this driver on the HS pin. Is the signal you show the signal from HO to ground, or HO to HS? Is the HS pin connected to the power devices in the power half bridge, or is this a stand alone driver circuit?

If this is the driver only, try connecting the HS pin to ground so that you can monitor the HO to HS signal easily, otherwise use a differential probe from HO to HS.

    Regards,
