Hello Harry/ TI Team,

I am using LM5150 boost IC and Output current /load current varies in my application w.r.t current consumed by LTE Module based on network available.

I can see peaks at output of 6v8 boost till 600mA for time duration of 4-5us. Nominal current is 120mA

Can you let me know which values should i consider in LM5150 calculator sheet? Peak current or Nominal current?

    Hello Sumit Singh,

    How long is the peak current needed. If the peak current is there for just some us, then LM5150 will not be able to react and then you use the average current, but if the peak current is there in the ms range, then you need to use the peak current as the output capacitor is no longer able to hold the voltage for such long.
