TPS4800-Q1: Schematic Verification

Part Number: TPS4800-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello team,

Can somebody verify our schematic

Short circuit current 55A

Over voltage 58V

Latch off at Fault condition

  • Hi Anoop,

Looking over your design I noticed that a few urgent changes:

    1. You need a bootstrap capacitor between the BST pin and SRC pin

    2. R494 and R495 should be removed and connected directly

    I would also recommend:

    1. Adding a gate resistor at the FET to mitigate line inductance
    2. Adding a TVS diode on the output and input to protect from voltage transients
    3. Adding a 1k-10k ohm resistor on the MCU connections to the TPS4800-Q1 to protect the MCU from reverse polarity events that could occur

Your short circuit is set to ~78A I would recommend changing RISCP if you want to set the short circuit current to 55A

I see that your over voltage is set to ~59V with a tolerance of 2.4% Which is in range of 58V so that is fine

    Everything else looks good

    Best Regards,

    Nicholas
