BQ76907: BQ76907 OTP question

Part Number: BQ76907

Tool/software:

I want to change the initial value and burn it into OTP,

but I can't find any relevant information and steps about burning into OTP.

Is there any relevant document I can refer to? Thank you!

  • Hello Pan,

For the BQ76907, the OTP settings can only be programmed into the device by TI during manufacturing. This would require a sufficient business case to do so. If you are looking for a device in which you can OTP yourself, our bq769x2 family would allow that.

  • So, can't the battery manufacturer burn the OTP data into Bq76907 by itself? If can't , how can we change the related protection settings according to the conditions of different batteries so that the IC can be used normally after power on reset?

  • Hello Pan,

That is correct. The user cannot do OTP for the BQ76907.

If can't , how can we change the related protection settings according to the conditions of different batteries so that the IC can be used normally after power on reset?

The user would have to have their MCU reconfigure their parameters after a power on reset.

  • So this BQ76907 can't be used for battery pack protection alone without MCU, right?

  • Hello Peter,

The BQ76907 can be used alone without a MCU. You could use the default settings on the device, or use a MCU initially to program the changed settings. The only downside is the user would have to have a MCU reconfigure there parameters after a power on reset without an OTP. Are you interested in getting customized settings for the BQ76907? What application are you trying to use our device in? How many cells in series will be used?
