Is there a Q1 ( automotive qualified) version of this part or plan to have it? if not, is there a similar part that is auto qualfified?

Note that I really like this part since it seems to have positive and negative current capabilities ( sink and source) in the >1A range

Hi Juan,

Thank you for reaching out. There is no auto part for TPS63070. We have TPS551892-Q1 with 8A inductor current limit and TPS552872-Q1 with 4A inductor current limit.

May I know what is the application here? Why do you need a negative current capability? TPS551892/TPS552872 also have negative current capability in FPWM mode. But notice that if negative current keeps charging input caps, there is over voltage risk.

It is for driving a TEC in cooling and heating mode as per below diagram. The TEC has 2Ω resistance and would like to do 2W for both cooling and heating ( hence would like to have +-1A)

Hi Juan,

Both TPS552872-Q1 and TPS551892-Q1 has -2.5A typical negative current capability. They are ok for TEC application.
