TPS25751: power consumption in sleep mode

Part Number: TPS25751

Tool/software:

Hi team,

customer have some questions about power consumption in sleep mode.

we found that in datasheet that there are two current for sleep mode, IVIN_3V3,Sleep and IPP5V, Sleep, we would like to know the power consumption only considering IVIN_3V3,Sleep or (IPP5V, Sleep+IVIN_3V3,Sleep)?

In my opinion, in sleep mode PP5V should be disable, the power consumption should only IVIN_3V3,Sleep

When PP5V is disable the consumption should be around zero, but why the typ value is 2uA?

Thanks

Darren

  • Hi Darren,

The power path is effectively disabled, but there is a small amount of current drawn on the PP5V path in sleep mode. When the path is enabled and in use it can draw up to 3-A so the sleep current is significantly lower than the enabled mode.

Sleep mode should consider I_PP5V,Sleepif PP5V is used. There are some sink only applications where PP5V can be grounded, but in all other applications, both currents should be considered in sleep mode.

    Thanks and Regards,
