HI TI team
We are working on the laptop project in which we need two type c connector with full functionality (Power + DP ALT mode), we have made the schematic based on CYPD6228, kindly help to review the schematic and share the comments.

  • Hello,

    For both U7 and U51:

What are these 220KOhm pull-down resistors for? Is the customer trying to bias the voltage down?

    RX/TX caps look good.

For SDA/SCL, we typically recommend a 4.7KOhm up to VI2C, 3.3V in this case.

Additionally, for I2C usage, CTL1 pin is not needed. If GPIO mode is not going to be used, this pin can be left floating.

Both DIR pins are pulled down for DFP Alt-mode functionality.

Please ensure the HPDIN pin is being controlled by the PD controller to ensure DP functionality.

    For specifically U7:

DEQ and UEQ are set to 0/0 for setting 0 at start-up:

    CFG0/1 are also 0/0 for setting 0:

    VIO_SEL is 0 and I2C_EN is 1 for 3.3V I2C Interface enabled.

    For specifically U51:

UEQ is set to 1/0, which will change the default UEQ settings and I2C address:

Otherwise, I don't have any other notes.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
