TPS2H160-Q1: Is an external clamp diode necessary to protect the drain-source?

Is it necessary to mount an external diode between the drain and source of the IPD to protect it from a negative surge that occurs upstream of the relay due to the back electromotive force of the coil when the high-side switch is turned off?

According to the datasheet, the IPD has a built-in diode, so is an external diode unnecessary?

    The internal diode of the device is the body diode of the device that prevents current from flowing in the normal direction when the device is off.

    To prevent reverse current you should mount the external diode to prevent current from flowing from VS to VBAT like the image below:
