hi， We are working on a design related to eFUSE and hope that the rated output can reach 10A. As TPS1686 cannot be ordered yet, we would like to use two TPS26631 in parallel. We would like to further understand some design details in the application notes<<Parallel Operation of TPS2663 eFuses>>'.
Can you share schematic and layout files for the "Figure 3-1. Evaluation Board with Four TPS26631 Devices in Parallel" mentioned in the notes?

The system has a rated input voltage of 12V (allowing 9V~14V), and TPS26631 is used for overcurrent, overvoltage, and anti reverse protection. The maximum rated input voltage of the rear DC-DC is 16V and cannot exceed 18V. Currently, TVS (SMBJ14CA) is placed before TPS26631, and B260-13-F is placed at the output of TPS26631. CN27 will be connected to a mechanical switch for on/off use.

Hello Yuan,

Since your operating voltage is 12V, any reason to choose 60V part. I can surely give you the schematic and layout.

I am recommending below devices for your system. Kindly check.

1. TPS25983 with external BFET (single chip solution RCB when off)

2. 2x TPS25947 in parallel (always ON RCB).

Hi Arush,
It seems that TPS25983 is a more elegant solution. What we need to further understand is: if we want to obtain surge protection outside the input voltage range of TPS25983 (such as 26V~42V), do you have any suggestions for configuring the front-end clamp and absorption circuit?
Considering that it may occasionally be installed in a car with a 12V battery and powered by a cigarette lighter, it can be used without damage (there is no need to obtain 7637 certification).

Hi Yuan Hui Su,

TPS25983 is rating for 26V recommended max operation and 30V abs max limit. If device gets voltage higher than abs max, it will get damaged.

We use TVS diodes to clamp transients or surges below the abs max limits. TVS like TVS2200 or TVS1800 provide proper surge response in their datasheet. SMCJ series will provide higher surge current capability.
