I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction here toward application notes or other related case studies - I am somewhat new to BMS concepts, and I am looking at it as part of a larger project. I would like to do some experimentation on a smaller scale - most likely with 13xxx series LiPo batteries. I have a decent grasp on the fundamentals related to xS strings, for whatever number of cells x turns out to be. I am trying to get a grasp over what the control and monitoring looks like when you have strings in parallel, for the sake of discussion, let's say I want a 3S2P or 3S3P configuration.
I am interested in what the HW configuration looks like - for example, would I have a balancer per string, and then some sort of supervisory control over each balancer? Or, is there a TI series balancer that I may have glanced over than can manage the series AND parallel configuration? Lastly, and I recognize this as much of an applicable question for the MCU forums, though hinges to some extent on my first question - what knowledge base and code libraries exist for BMS control? I saw early references to the MSPM0 series having BMS applications, but I am not sure the extent to which that has been developed yet.
