Tool/software:
Hi expert,
Could you help to recommend suitable low side driver to replace the competitor U1001? Below is the U1001 datasheet. Thanks.
Best Regards,
Ryker
Hi Ryker,
Our closest p2p match would be the UCC27614:
Here are the differences:
1. TI device is rated 30V abs max and typical 10A source/sink current. U1001 is rated 35V abs max and typical 1.2A/1.5A source/sink current.
2. TI device has negative voltage handling on IN and EN pins, and they both go up to 30V abs. max. U1001 has no negative voltage handling.
3. You need to connect both pins 1 and 8 to VDD on TI part, while U1001 only requires pin 8 to be connected to VDD and pin 1 is NC.
4. You need to connect both pins 4 and 5 to GND on TI part, while U1001 only requires pin 5 to be connected to GND and pin 4 is NC.
5. Our pin 3 is EN, which turns off the device if it's low. U1001 as nSD, which turns off the device if it's high.
6. Both pins 6 and 7 on TI device are connected to OUT, but it is not split output. It is done this way to handle the high 10A peak current. U1001 has split output on pins 6 and 7.
7. U1001 datasheet is very limited.
If customer needs a 35V gate driver, then we have UCC27531, which is rated 35V abs max and typical 2.5A/5A source/sink current. It has split output, but it is not p2p.
Can you share the customer application, load, and their gate driver requirements? Any protection like DESAT or OCP? Please send me an email if you would like to continue there with sensitive information.
Thanks,
