TPSM63604: Junction temperature difference between calculated and measured

Hi,

In the calculator spreadsheet, a junction temperature is calculated (estimated) of 64 degrees.

Under what circumstance is that, in the spreadsheet the demo board is shown? I have the demo board and with the shown input voltage (30V) and output voltage (12V) and current (3A), the junction temperature is much higher at 81 degrees measured with a FLIR.

Hi,

I suspect that the excel sheet will not be able to exactly capture the true environmental conditions and so you see difference in excel result and actual measurement.

OK....it is a shame it is not a conservative estimate, but a highly optimistic one :-)
