BQ25713: Reverse polarity protection

Hi,

I am designing an irrigation controller with the BQ25713 charge controller. I would like to implement reverse polarity protection but I dont know how to do it. Traditional method that uses Diode or Fet won't let the current going back to the battery to charge it. Is it possibile to implement this feature with an é-fuse like Tps2660? Can the e-fuse work with the charging current going back to the battery?

Hi Tiger,

The method proposed in the document doesn't consider that the current is not flowing only from the battery to the charger but also Viceversa during charge. So they won't work. Can you help in identifying maybe an ic that can work in this case? Are my assumptions right? Thanks
