TPS551892-Q1: Request for circuit review related to the problem of no output when 1A load is applied

Part Number: TPS551892-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi, TI expert

[spec]
- Input : 3.2Vdc(3.5Vdc) ~ 4.2Vdc
- Output : 3.5V , 3A

Customer configured the circuit with the specific above, but there is a problem with the output.
There is no problem when a load of 0.5A is applied to the output, but when a load of 1A is applied, the output does not come out below 4V.

What could be the problem?
Please let me know if there is anything wrong with the schematic.

Below is the link that we previously conducted a circuit review. (https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1480683/tps551892-q1-request-for-tps551892-q1-schematic-review/5693532#5693532)

Please check. Thank you.

  • Hi Grady,

Thank you for reaching out. Can you provide waveforms of Vin, Vout, VCC, iL at the moment when Iout changes to 1A? We recommend to use 16V cap for VCC cap, did customer follow our advice?

    Regards,

    Mulin

  • Hi, Mulin

In fact, I re-delivered the contents at the time of the last circuit review to the customer and reconfirmed it.
After the circuit review, all the corrections were reflected, but this time it was a problem that was caused by an error that did not reflect the corrections at the time.
In conclusion, normal behavior was confirmed after checking with the proposed time constant at the time.
    Thank you for your support.

  • Hi Grady,

Thank you for confirmation. I will close this thread now. Any abnormal behavior please feel free to reply.

    Regards,

    Mulin
