TPS65987DDK: USB-IF certification TEST.PD.PROT.SNK.3 & 4

Part Number: TPS65987DDK

Hello.

We are trying to pass the USB-IF certification as PD 3.1 with a TPS65987DDK on a GRL C2

We solved most of our issues, but there still are two tests that we can't pass.

TEST.PD.PROT.SNK.3 SinkWaitCapTimer Deadline - Incomplete :

From my understanding, the tester sends a hard reset, and then sends its source capabilities just before the tTypeCSinkWaitCap minimum (310ms), then the TPS65987DDK should not send a request, but does it anyway.

TEST.PD.PROT.SNK.4 SinkWaitCapTimer Timeout - Warning :

Here, the tester sends a hard reset, and then doesn't sends its source capabilities. The TPS65987DDK should send a hard reset after 620ms, but sends it a bit later, between 645 and 650ms, which gives a warning on the test.

This zip contains the result of both tests : sinkwaitcaptimer.zip

Here is the VIF file : test_vif.xml

And here are the pjt and JSON files :

test_17_10_25.pjt

tps_json.json

Best regards.

  • Hello,

The json file did not load.  Also, in the pjt there is no firmware information.  Can you confirm you are using F907.14.14?

    Regards,
    Chris

  • Hello. I don't know why the json file doesn't load.

We are using F907.14.20 as suggested here.

As F907.14.14 can't be certified anymore, because it is PD revision 3.0.

  • Hello,

This interpretation does not appear correct.

Here, the tester sends a hard reset, and then doesn't sends its source capabilities. The TPS65987DDK should send a hard reset after 620ms, but sends it a bit later, between 645 and 650ms, which gives a warning on the test.

The PD controller is programmed to wait about 607ms.  I am not able to follow the trace log, which shows greater than 1s.

Can you inquire with the test house the interpretation?

    Regards,
    Chris
