TPS548C26: Loading Force Spec

Part Number: TPS548C26

Hi Team,

The customer is going to add to heatsink on device to cool it down.

To prevent damaging device, the loading force spec. is needed to  be considered for heatsink design.

Please help to provide the loading force spec for TPS548C26. Many thanks~

Best regards,

Mike

  • Hey Mike,

TI recommends a force of up to 10 Newtons uniformly spread across the top of the package and perpendicular to the mounting surface.

Uneven distribution of force, or shearing force no perpendicular to the mounting surface of the package can alter the internal mechanical stresses on the silicon die and affect the electrical parameters or cause damage to the mechanical or electrical connections of the device.

    Thank you,
    Caleb

  • Hi Cable,

After checking with customer, the 10N limitation is far lower than other supplier’s MOSFET spec, could you please kindly revisit the force again. Thank you.

    Best regards,

    Mike

  • Hey Mike,

We don't have any other data regarding loading force on the part. 10N is the most we recommend. Any other long term force may cause the silicon to bend which would result in changing part performance/limits. The customer should validate loading force on their board.

    Thanks,
    Caleb

  • Hi Caleb,

Get it, thanks for helping on this.

    Best regards,
