Running the bq78PL116EVM Cell Simulation

Hi, my name is Andrew Gulstad. I'm trying to run the cell simulator for the bq78PL116 and I'm not sure where to connect the resistors. The J ports have only positive ports, so I don't know where to connect the other end of the resistors. Since the picture looks as if they are connected directly to the VSS-V16 sensors, I tried connecting the resistors directly to the sensors, but I couldn't get a voltage reading. It was as if the Batt+ and the V16 are not connected at all. Do you know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks. We are now seeing a voltage drop across the resistors, which implies that we have them connected correctly. However we get the error message "Unable to connect to device. Please check power and the connections to the hardware". It seems as if there is no connection between the USB-TO-GPIO connector. We checked the computer, and it is registering the USB-TO-GPIO connector as a USB device, but not the board itself. When we click "Scan Bus" we receive the message "No target found on SMBus!" We have our power supply set to 14V over 10 resistors and are connecting the pins to BATT+ and BATT- as instructed. Do you know why the board isn't being detected by the software?

Andrew, You need at least 3V across each cell. If this does not work, then disconnect and reconnect the GPIO adapter and reopen bqWizard, Tom
