TPS65053 question. Can I boost the VCC(3.6V) to 4.5V then connect to VINDCDC1/2.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65053

A application like this:

The battery (3.3V--4.2V) connect to TPS65053 VCC, and a DCDC converter boost the battery voltage to 4.5V, then 4.5V connect to VINDCDC1/2.

But the VCC pin discription is--- Power supply for digital and analog circuitry of DCDC1, DCDC2 and LDOs. This pin must be connected to the same voltage supply as VINDCDC1/2.

So I want to know, VCC and VINDCDC1/2 must connect to the same voltage level, or just the same power supply but different voltage level, it can accept a buck/boost converter between the two pins.

Thanks!

  • Henry,

Yes, Vcc is the supply for the digital and the analog circuitry of DCDC1 and DCDC2 therefore, in order for the internal DCDC circuits to operate properly Vcc and Vindcdc must be the same voltage. Connecting them to the same power supply is also, needed.
