LM5017 to become Automotive Qualified?

I am working on a PCB design which, hopefully, will be accepted in a automotive application.

I need to create 5V from up to 72v input power.

It looks like the LM5574 will certainly do that, but LM5017 looks like a better fit (smaller/simpler).

The LM5574 is "AEC-Q100 grade 1" qualified for automotive use.

Does TI plan to eventually do the same for the newer LM5017?

The LM5117 is AEC-Q100 grade 1qualified, I have attached the data sheet.4617.lm5117-q1.pdf

Thank you for your prompt reply.

However, I had my hopes on using the simpler LM5017.

I managed to find a similar simple part from a different vendor.

Assuming that the LM5017 isn't going to be Automotive Certified in the foreseeable future, I am afraid I will have to go with this other part.

The LM5017 will be Automotive Qualified, my best estimate is that this should happen early next year. If you want to receive a status next year you can contact me directly at terry.allinder@ti.com

Are there plans for automotive certification product about LM5017? If you have a plan, let me know that's schdule!!

Hello Kwangho,

We do not have any immediate plans to auto-qual the LM5017. We will be releasing the LM5161-Q1 very soon. I can send you the DS of this part for your review. It is also a 100V COT sync Buck Converter and has been auto qualified.
