Hi there,
I am using bqEVSW (version0.9.92) with EV2300 on Windows 7 to generate a golden image for my bq27500 gas gauge.
So far, everything works fine and the golden image is generated after the cycling process. bqEVSW also tells me, that the .dfi-file has been successfully saved in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\bq Evaluation Software\Plugins\Projects", but I can't find the file in this folder.
Could there be an issue with write permissions on the Windows 7 program folder?
Is there a way to manually change the folder, where bqEVSW saves the generated .dfi-file?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Julian
Hi Julian,
I'm glad it's working now. I'm not sure what you did to fix it, but I'll mention for others that a common problem is that Windows 7 protects the directory where EVSW is installed so you need to make sure to install EVSW as Administrator (right-click on the installer .exe and select Run as Admin) and also after installing you need to make sure you launch it as an Admin by right-clicking and selecting Run as Admin or else change the file properties to always run as admin. Then EVSW will be allowed to write its files to the Program Files directory.
This is all because EVSW was written back in the XP days. Our newer GUIs like GaugeStudio and bqStudio use different directories and are more "modern".
