I try to adjust the external value of the TPS40400 , switch pro and the excel tools TPS40KType III Loop Stability kVenable_sluc263c-071312

with both tool for the same input , output and inductor value I got major difference for the compensation loop value wish tool are the more accurate for have the best efficiency with this chip at 3V3 and 5V with 12V input.

I does not surprise me that you would get different results. I can tell you that switcherpro has been out of development for several years and is not currently supported, except as legacy software.

I did not develop that tool and have never used it. Let me see if I can locate someone familiar with it.

Comments from a knowledgeable user who I personally know and trust:

"The Small signal analysis of the 3 curves are pretty accurate as long as there are no switching-frequency interactions between RAMP and COMP.

The recommendations are based on Venible’s “k-factor” loop design, which can produce some non-ideal performance characteristics like high gain in the error amplifier at the switching frequency and low phase margin at resonance, so you’ll want to check for those potential issues, but the tool works quite well."
