Hi colleagues,
I have a question. I have a card that contains LM2672 simple switcher Regulator. Unfortunately there is a noise on the Vin, so the Vin pin get -4V short time: ~1mikrosecond (at the switch on).
What will it happen? Will be my LM2672 damaged or ... it will be nothing happened, the IC will not work, and it will not be damaged? Is ist any protection in the IC, if Vin get -4V?
I am waiting for your answer!
Br,
Richard
A large negative voltage on the input pin can easily damage the device. I suggest that you use a Schottky diode on the input to protect the regulator.
