We are using TPS65910 with AM335x . The I2C0 of AM335x is connected to the PMIC. What will happen if we disable the I2C functionality of the Line .Will the PMIC Still provide the Power or will it shutdown . We want to check some functionality after disabling the I2C

Hi Eby,

The PMIC will continue to operate with just the i2c bus disabled, using the latest values stored in the PMIC's internal registers.

HI Richard,

Thanks for the reply . So what is the basic operation of this I2C interface to the PMIC in the Case of AM335X . IS it to recognize the MPU device used and set the right operating voltage for OPP50/100 / turbo/ nitro etc ?

Hi Eby,

Yes, the AM335x can set updated regulator voltages depending on the operating frequency etc., but for detailed software specifics I would honestly have to defer to our Sitara forum:

I'm not sure exactly what processes will be active when you are disabling the i2c interface, so here is a list of available linux drivers for the TPS65910 (and TPS65911) PMICs with a fair amount of documentation which might be helpful:
