TPS63060/about switching of step-up and step-down

Hi,

Could you tell me about TPS63060 switching of step up and step down?
I describe the conditions of use below.
◇Vin=5.2V Vout=5.5V Iout=1A
In addition, I attach the waveform of the problem.

I got the following question from a customer.

1.When the input voltage and the output voltage is near,
 TPS63060 has been back and forth a step-up operation and the step-down operation.
 Customers want to know the details of the switching behavior.
 Customer want to know switching detection method and its internal operation.

2.Is this noise switches operation may be considered a cause?

Could you give me your advice?

  • Hi,

    When the input voltage is close to the output voltage the device is in buck-boost region. This ensures a robust control and the highest
    efficiency. You can find more details in the DS chapter 8.4.2.

    For me it is still not clear what are the concerns.
    How was the measurement setup? Do you measure directly on the output capacitor with a low impedance probe?
    Could you please provide a new scope plot with a different time scale to see more details and explain again the issue?

    Thank you for your support.
    TPS63060 is to increase the noise level,
    when the value close to Vin voltage and Vout voltage.
    I will attach a customer of the waveform.

    I was check the page(chapter 8.4.2) you gave me the advice.
    However,
    Customer want to know the switching threshold and method of the Buck and boost.
    Could you tell me about it(Buck-Boost Overlap control) more detail?

    Thanks for the scope plots. As i already mentioned above it would be very helpful to get a zoomed scope plot to see the details.
    As well i would like to know the measurement setup. Was it done on the TPS63060 EVM?

    I think the Buck-Boost Control description in the DS is detailed enough.
    Could you share more details of the customer application and the concerns?
