Hi Team,

I am evaluating bq2013H with bq2013HEVM and EV2200-13H.
I got log data for long hours then I found NAC conter suddenly decrease 15406(dec) to 15376(dec) after a lapse of 22000 seconds as attached.
*approximately 0.2% decrease

I used power supply in substitution for battery and the condition is no load in this case.
Is it normal function of bq2013H?

I understood bq2013h is NRND now but my customer is using the device before it went NRND and the background of the question above is attributed to customer's inquiry.

The adjustment to the NAC register occurred when the discharge current was applied. It was probably due to the Offset Compensation or due to a change in temperature since the charge state. There was no change in SOC at that point in time.

It seems NAC conter suddenly decrease at fixed intervals(approximately every 22000 seconds).
Is it possible case of Offset Compensation?
I used power supply(fixed voltage) in substitution for battery and there is no load, so discharge current couldn't be applied.

The self discharge should decrement NAC every one hour when at rest. I am not sure what would decrement at a 6 hour interval. It is probably Offset Compensation. I do not have anymore information on this device.

Hi Thomas-san.

Is there anyone of TI who can support this issue of bq2013h?
I should judge if this operation is normal or not because my customer wants to know it.
I believe it is normal operation because I used bq2013HEVM, but I don't have expertise in this device and can't explain..

The people who designed this device are no longer with TI and the only information that we have to support it is the datasheet. The NAC adjustments that you mentioned seem reasonable as compared to other CEDV devices.
